Bacolod City Philippines- The war on drugs simply will not be able to be triumphant if the one involved only allows the physical aspect to healed.

Given the magnitude of the problem which is now considered to be pandemic rather than epidemic, much of the emphasis is on the physical.

What was left behind is the spiritual aspect of the healing process. Not unless the heart is changed the whole being is changed.

The change must come from within, going out, because healing the outside can never change the inside, not unless it starts from the heart.

This is what General Bato Dela Rosa emphasised during his speech in front of the many drug users/ pushers.

He said that he hopes that their change is going for the best and hopes that it will continue.

He said that the reason why they continue to be hooked on illegal substance is because they lack communication with God.

“You tend to forget that there is God and it’s time to go back to the Lord and pray always, go to church and reconnect with the Lord because there is no other way to go.”

“No matter how much rehabilitation you do if your heart is empty... what is lacking is your connection with the Lord. If there’s no line between you and God, chances are, you will still go back to addiction.”

“That is why from now on, you start praying, go to church and talk to God, asking him to help you not to backslide even if the craving is there, never use or sell shabu again.”

“Just find another source of income, never go back to touch these illegal drugs again.”

Bato further added, that he is not threatening them in any way; in so much that we are, after all, Filipinos and “it’s not the time for threats but it’s time to help one another.”

“But never forget the drug lords. They must be punished for their crime. So just relax because they will ultimately, would pay for their crimes.” Bato said.
