MPD official on US Embassy rally: "Magkagulo na kung magkagulo"

A Manila Police District ranking official was recorded commanding the policemen to disperse anti-US protestants after they were able to go near the US Embassy during a rally on Wednesday.

According to 24 Oras's report, MPD Deputy Director for Operations Sr. Supt. Marcelino Pedrozo could be heard ordering his men to fight and expressing disappointment that they let the protestants reached the embassy.

Kaya i-disperse mo 'yan," Pedrozo said.

"Lumaban kasi kayo! Mga pulis kayo hindi kayo lumalaban!" he added.

Pedrozo denied that he told such order through a text message to GMA News Online.

He stated that the rallyists tried to take their police mobile by force.

Twenty six protestants were arrested during the rally and Pedrozo said they were released through the MPD and legal counsel of the protesters' agreement.

The deputy director also defended the police mobile's driver, saying he only wanted to get the vehicle away from the scene to prevent its destruction.
