Sarah Geronimo expresses sadness over killed dog in Oro

The 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival was one of the biggest talk of the recently past year and even after the awarding ceremonies for the films, it continued to made the headlines as the nominated movies were of excellent quality.


However, things didn't go smoothly for all of the films as Oro, a multi-awarded entry, is currently being lambasted by many despite its high caliber.

Apparently, the production team killed not one, but two dogs, during the shooting. This was confirmed by Japo Parcero, an actress included in Oro. She made a lengthy post on Facebook revealing the truth behind the animal abuse.

Concerned organizations, like the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS,) decided to file charges against the filmmakers. Many personalities and celebrities also expressed their sadness and disappointment over the incident.

One of them is pop queen Sarah Geronimo. She took to Twitter her dismay regarding the controversial and disturbing issue.

Fans were surprised that Geronimo spoke up about the animal murder as she rarely opens up on social media regarding her sentiments. This could mean that the incident affected her greatly.

The grueling scene was shown to the public so who wouldn't be overly concerned about it? The director initially countered the issue, saying that they actually killed a goat, not the dog featured in the film. However, this was debunked as many people associated with the award-winning movie already spoke up about the truth.
