What happens when a group of people who doesn't know CPR and a hysterical mom who can't calm down during an emergency situation tries to revive a drowned child ? DISASTER.
A viral video has been a hot topic today, it shows a mother carrying her unconscious child while others are trying to attempt a CPR. It also shows people performing CPR while the child is laying on the mother's lap, when it should be done on a flat surface. And they even shaked the kid upside down.
Before watching the cringing video, just a few reminders when this happens to someone you know.
-If you don't know CPR, DO NOT PERFORM ONE. Instead call an ambulance or take the fellow to the nearest hospital in the area.
-CALM DOWN. Panicking would consume the time to save someone's life.
-If a person drowns, do not rub his/her chest, don't do it as a substitute if you don't know CPR.
-DO NOT SHAKE AN UNCONSCIOUS KID UPSIDE DOWN. This will never help.
-Did I mention not doing the thing when you don't know it? Because that's kind of important.
