Pope Francis reacts to fake news: "Filipinos are in danger, they easily believe anything"

An article regarding Pope Francis' alleged reaction to Duterte's cursing went viral yesterday, December 1, 2015.

It was made clear by the unknown source that the news regarding the reaction of the Pope to Duterte was all fictional. But that doesn't stop Filipinos from quoting the said website and spreading images of the Pope with the caption:

"I was amazed by the fact that a politician who is aiming at the highest position could be this honest. It was a first encounter for me to see a politician being honest about his concerns for his country other than kissing my hands for the sole purpose of getting the support of the majority of the Catholic population."

This caught the attention of the Pope. Francis released a strong message to Filipinos regarding this issue.

"There are some pieces of truth within that satire article. But it is baffling to see how Filipinos are very vulnerable to false information. This is very alarming. Filipinos should be more careful on the information they are getting. Especially this upcoming election. If they are easily fooled by fake news on the internet, they are more likely to be vulnerable to corrupt government officials."
