On Monday during a press conference, Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo revealed that 200,000 victims of supertyphoon Yolanda from Regions 6 and 8 were not given aid from the government.
She said that these irregularities were already reported to President Rodrigo Duterte as his strong order for his cabinet is to serve people without corruption.
Taguiwalo also said that during the height of the recent supertyphoon Lawin, they urged their agencies that "emergency shelter assistance should be emergency--not three years, not two years after."
"We are doing our best to make sure that the Yolanda experience in terms of delayed provision of emergency shelter assistance should not be repeated," she said.
