On Monday, a drug operation was held in Bacolod City wherein three personalities were arrested.
Manuel Huelar Jr., 35-year-old former basketball star and barangay captain of village 35; Chrisian Joseph Mijares, 20-year-old son of a popular family in Negros Occidental; and grandson of late Ignacio Arroyo, Joshua Robert Arroyo were nabbed in the buy-bust operation.
It was conducted at an inn in Liroville Subdivision in Barangay Singcang-Airport in the city, around 7 p.m. on Monday, according to PDEA Negros Island regional director Julius Navales.
The arrest occurred when an agent bought the pack of shabu from Huelar.
Arroyo even tried to stop an PDEA agent from entering his room thus triggering the latter to shoot him in the arm.
Two sachets of shabu and other drug peraphernalia were recovered from Mijares, who was arrested in the same room with Arroyo.
