Ex-beauty queen now an illegal drug queen
A former candidate of Binibing Pilipinas was arrested after being caught using illegal drugs.
Mariafe Garlit was nabbed during a buy-bust operation in Sampaloc, Manila.
She was recovered with two sachets of shabu and drug peraphernalia.
Along with Garlit, arrested was Ma. Lovella Rival, a 43-year-old target drug personality of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG.)
During an interview with the suspects, Rival admitted that she used drugs but did not sell them.
"That's not true, I'm a user but I never sold drugs," she said
Garlit also admitted she had used illegal drugs but already stopped it after she went into rehabilitation in 2014.
It was in 1992 when Garlit joined the Binibing Pilipinas wherein she won a Miss Photogenic award.
