United States President Donald Trump drew criticisms from his people after inviting Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte for a White House visit over the phone on April 29.
The two leaders discussed the Philippine Government is fighting very hard to rid its country of drugs.
However, some people not only from the US but also from all over the world got angered of this invitation for they believe that Duterte's reputation for promoting violence in the name of public safety.
In addition, they adhere to the news that the President has admitted himself personally killed criminals which resulted to an intense condemnation from human rights groups across the globe.
Deputy director of the Asia Division of Human Rights Watch Phelime Kine told NBC News that the croup documented the vicious death squad during Duterte's term as a mayor.
The news mentioned that it has been mentioned in the video the death squad killed hundreds of people.
"It killed hundreds of people," Kine said. He added that although the group never found "any conclusive link" between Duterte and the death squad, they did find that members of his police force and city government "were very much involved" and "paying these killers."
HRW believes the president Duterte's campaign on war on drugs has led to the deaths of an estimated 7,000 people.
"It's absolutely appalling that President Trump's first meaningful engagement with President Duterte did not include any meaningful reference or condemnation for the fact that Duterte has inflicted nothing less than an absolute human rights calamity on his country," added Kine.
