A female overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Oman was found dead a day after she was reported to have been missing in the hotel where she worked.
It was last week on Thursday when it was reported that Pinky Pamittan was missing. Pamitan was a 31-year-old employee of Qurum hotel where she worked as a waitress and housekeeping supervisor.
Her corpse was then found on Friday in a 'wadi' or valley behind the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat.
According to the initial inevstigations of the Royal Police of Oman, she was raped before killed and two to three suspects have been arrested and are currently being investigated.
"She was found on Friday and was working as a waitress in a hotel restaurant. So far we don't know the cause of death, but her body is in the morgue. Initial reports suggest that she was kidnapped and raped," a report on Times of Oman said.
"The incident most probably occurred on Wednesday after the management reported a missing person on Thursday. The police were only able to find her on Friday thrown in a wadi near the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque," a police officer said.
A fellow employee of the victim is also investigated after he also skipped work starting on Thursday, same day when Pamittan had gone missing. However, the police refused to disclose the name of the suspect.
