The family of a rape suspect are crying out for justice after he was allegedly tortured and hurt by the police before killing him inside the police mobile in Caloocan.
According to DZMM on Wednesday, Pablo Dagsa narrated that they surrendered their son, Pablo "Jimboy" Dagsa Jr., to the police on Saturday after he was involved in a rape incident against a female drinker.
Jimboy denied the accusation and tried to settle things with the victim but her family refused to do so especially her uncle whom is a police so he was temporarily jailed.
The suspect's father asserted that his son was first tortured by beating him up and putting spoon in between his fingers.
"Sabi niya, 'Mama, Papa, 'wag niyo akong iwanan. Sinasaktan ako dito. Sinikmuraan na ako tapos ina-ano yung mga daliri ko ng kutsara,' he said.
It was on Sunday when Jimboy was accompanied by the police to go to the court. His family was not allowed to join him in the same police mobile so they rode two different police cars.
"Walang nakaupo sa likod. Ipinakiusap namin na sasabay kami doon, hindi pumayag. Sinigawan iyung asawa ko, 'Hindi kayo pwede dito sumakay, doon kayo sa isang police patrol,'" Hermiliana Dagsa, mother of Jimboy, said on an interview with ABSCBN News.
They were shocked when the mobile carrying the suspect drifted away from them and were suddenly informed that he was killed by the police after he fought back.
"Nag-request itong suspek, kung maaari raw ay ilipat ang posas sa harapan. Noong inililipat, nagkaroon siya ng opportunity na i-grab iyung baril ng pulis natin. Nagpang-agaw na sila hanggang sa may pumutok, tinamaan na siya," Caloocan police chief Supt. Reynante Ariza said.
The Caloocan police are now investigating the incident but as for now, they haven't seen any foul play that happened.
